Some time ago, I saw the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness”. I think it’s a true inspiring masterpiece on winning over personal challenges with self-confidence. Today I’d like to share my thoughts on this movie with you.
The pursuit of happyness
The movie is based on the true story of Chris Gardner, a man who was facing poverty and struggling to support his family. He invested heavily in a medical device that didn’t sell well and lost his money. Due to serious money difficulties, his wife left him and he lost his house.
Self confidence vs self esteem? Well, many people mistake self-confidence and self-esteem. Well, they are two very different concepts: boiled down, self-confidence is “I can do it”, self-esteem is “I like myself”. While they are not the same thing, they are tightly related.
Self confidence vs self esteem: how they are connected
While self-esteem is a broad concept, self-confidence usually applies to single areas of life. You can be self-confident with math, for example, but feel unsecure about romantic relationships. So, while self-esteem is a global concept, self-confidence will be different in several areas of your life.
Hello everyone! Want to know the secrets of self-confidence of a true champion? Keep reading!
Today I want to share with you an interview with the self-confidence champion from the world of Internet Marketing. This is an internet based kind of business full of traps and… sharks… Nobody today is able to survive the pressure of such a kind of business without a lot of patience, discipline and self-confidence.
The champion of ethical and genuine self-confidence in this world of sharks is, in my humble opinion, Arun Chandran.
He’s a professional fire artist and he’s owner of www.flaminghotplr.com where he sells content on many topics that internet marketers can customize and use for their business.
He’s the most sincere, motivating and positively brutal marketer I know, and his newsletter is so inspiring that I find him more a teacher and a coach than a marketer. And for sure I’m not the only one thinking this, as everything he does gets always raving fans… (So, if you are in the Internet Marketing business do yourself a favor and subscribe his newsletter at www.flaminghotplr.com)
For these reasons, I asked him permission to present a few questions to share his secrets of self-confidence with you.
He kindly agreed and you find in the following my questions and his answers…
We know how developing an unbreakable self-confidence will bring you joy and success in every area of your life. An unbreakable self-confidence is essential to face challenges, overcome self-doubt, overcome failure, learn and go one step further.
There are many ways to develop an unbreakable self-confidence. In “How to boost self-confidence” we have seen a very robust way. The pivotal point there is about developing courage.
Nothing like the habit of having courage will develop your unbreakable confidence.
Being adventurous is a good way to cultivate this. I have prepared a very short video for you on this:
We are covering today a self-confidence book that shows you how to do address your self-confidence mind related issues in a simple but radical and very effective way.
We know that our mind plays a very important role with our self-confidence. A mind focused on your true objectives at the deepest level will grant you success, but of course you first must get there.
When we approach new challenges, is possible that repeated negative thoughts will arise. When this happens, it for sure undermines our self-confidence and our ability to approach the challenge in a constructive and effective way.
There are plenty of approaches to addressing this. For example, affirmations for self-confidence are a simple starting point to re-educate your mind to a healthier mindset.
Sometimes we find that things are hard at the beginning, but then they becomes easier as we work on them as you gain momentum. But other times things become harder and harder, at the point that your mind seems battling against you.
When this happens, it seems that you’ll never be enough motivated, enough confident, enough fearless to be able to confront your challenges.
We have seen that there are many ways to address how to raise self confidence. A lot of this stuff has to do with expanding your comfort zone, and acting with courage. It’s not a case we are dealing with this in our self confidence challenge (subscribe at the bottom).
Of course a lasting self confidence requires deep inner stability. Stability about knowing yourself, knowing who you are.
A recent sociological research focused on the “self-concept clarity” notion. This is the stability over time of clear and confident beliefs about themselves. It’s easy to see that the more self-concept clarity you have, the more robust and resilient self confidence you have.
So, what’s the best way to rise your self-concept clarity?
Do you lack self confidence? Does it come from low self esteem? Are you not believing in yourself? Are you lacking ability? Do you feel inadequate compared to your colleagues or friends? Or did you have some kind of trauma from your childhood? So where is your self confidence and where does self confidence come from?
The answer to this question comes from just one word – YOU!
Self confidence starts with you, your perception of yourself, what other people tell you about your actions or behavior, and what you think about what people tell you.
We all have problems. We want to improve our lives. We want greater self confidence, ability, success. These things are hard to achieve. They require effort, discipline, patience and sometimes luck. You don’t know if you are able enough, if things will sort out as you hope.
No Silver Bullets
You can feel overwhelmed and hope that a magical solution could solve all your problems. So you look for everything can help you out there, for that magic silver bullet that will free you from your struggle.
The hard truth is that silver bullets don’t exist. Nothing will evaporate your problems with a zap. But there are for sure tips and strategies that can help you and will if you’ll apply them in your life.
So you want to know how to boost self confidence. Well, the good news is that your self confidence is already inside you. You have just to remember what it means unshakable self confidence.
