We have seen previously a lot of tips about self-confidence; many of them are about mindset or taking action; but if you are looking for a self-confidence breakthrough, we have to dig deeper. And this is where emerging popular approaches to self-confidence are going.
Self confidence vs self esteem? Well, many people mistake self-confidence and self-esteem. Well, they are two very different concepts: boiled down, self-confidence is “I can do it”, self-esteem is “I like myself”. While they are not the same thing, they are tightly related.
Self confidence vs self esteem: how they are connected
While self-esteem is a broad concept, self-confidence usually applies to single areas of life. You can be self-confident with math, for example, but feel unsecure about romantic relationships. So, while self-esteem is a global concept, self-confidence will be different in several areas of your life.
Hello everyone! Want to know the secrets of self-confidence of a true champion? Keep reading!
Today I want to share with you an interview with the self-confidence champion from the world of Internet Marketing. This is an internet based kind of business full of traps and… sharks… Nobody today is able to survive the pressure of such a kind of business without a lot of patience, discipline and self-confidence.
The champion of ethical and genuine self-confidence in this world of sharks is, in my humble opinion, Arun Chandran.
He’s a professional fire artist and he’s owner of www.flaminghotplr.com where he sells content on many topics that internet marketers can customize and use for their business.
He’s the most sincere, motivating and positively brutal marketer I know, and his newsletter is so inspiring that I find him more a teacher and a coach than a marketer. And for sure I’m not the only one thinking this, as everything he does gets always raving fans… (So, if you are in the Internet Marketing business do yourself a favor and subscribe his newsletter at www.flaminghotplr.com)
For these reasons, I asked him permission to present a few questions to share his secrets of self-confidence with you.
He kindly agreed and you find in the following my questions and his answers…
However, your workplace has a major difference compared to many other real life situations you have to face: you are forced to work with people who could be a real source of challenges for you and your ego. They can be your boss, your peers, your coworkers, etc.
Therefore, you can bet that dealing with people in your workplace is the second pillar of you self-confidence in your workplace.
Reaching your goals takes dedication, commitment and the willingness to do whatever it takes. When things don’t work, going forward becomes harder and harder. You experience all kinds of disappointments and frustrations. You did your homework, you know things should work, you know your results are somewhere out there. But you are still failing to get the results that should follow and you know you deserve. This is the point where you need both confidence and resilience.
And you come to the point that you seriously start thinking that what you are doing is not working and you should better giving up. Every time you think that you are failing, your confidence lowers and you risk seriously to really give up. Resilience is your ability to not give up when you reach this point. So, while confidence is your ability to take a challenge, resilience is your ability to retry when things are not working. So you need both confidence and resilience to reach your greatest goals.
A few decades ago, self confidence was just a shy children problem. Today self confidence is recognized as one of the most important skill for day to day survival and long term success. What did happen? How this can help us to sort out the most important key to self confidence?
You are doing a lot of work to improve your self confidence. You read blogs, do exercises, take action, express courage and break your comfort zone. Nevertheless, it seems like you have your big victories, but then your lack of self confidence emerges and you feel like you didn’t go so far. Sometimes you feel like you have to restart it all. If this is your case, a mantra to increase self confidence could do the trick (keep reading if you don’t know what is a mantra…).
If your self confidence falls simultaneously with a low mood, then there could be a mindset issue. It is possible that something inside you is sabotaging your self confidence efforts. The main reason of this kind of self sabotage is usually negative thinking.
Are you looking for increased self-confidence when it comes to performing the work and handling tough situations? Would you like to feel more secure about your abilities on the job? What can you do to build your self confidence in workplace?
Deal with who you are not
Well, I don’t know if this is a surprise for you: you are a lot of wonderful and amazing things, and at the time, for sure, you are NOT your job.
Do you lack self confidence? Does it come from low self esteem? Are you not believing in yourself? Are you lacking ability? Do you feel inadequate compared to your colleagues or friends? Or did you have some kind of trauma from your childhood? So where is your self confidence and where does self confidence come from?
The answer to this question comes from just one word – YOU!
Self confidence starts with you, your perception of yourself, what other people tell you about your actions or behavior, and what you think about what people tell you.
